Complaints against an entity
Newcastle Regulation may commence an investigation into the conduct of your entity, upon receipt of a complaint or other information received from other Newcastle Regulation teams or other regulatory bodies such as the Solicitors Regulatory Authority, the Council for Licensed Conveyancers or the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner.
Newcastle Regulation disciplinary panels cannot award compensation. Complaints about service are investigated by the Legal Ombudsman, who can award compensation where you have provided poor service to clients.
Complaints about conduct are investigated in accordance with the Newcastle Regulation Enforcement Rules. For more details about these procedures please refer to the Enforcement Rules and the Enforcement Handbook.
More information about the Professional Conduct Panel (PCP), the Disciplinary Tribunal (DT) and the Appeals Panel (AP) can be found here. It is recommended that you read the information below first.
If a complaint has been made about you as an individual member of Newcastle Regulation rather than an Authorised Entity please click here to see how complaints about your conduct are dealt with.
